On 24th May 2023, we had the privilege of hosting Alessio Vannetti, who met with the third-year students of the BA in Fashion Communication: Fashion Editor, Styling & Communication, during a lecture by Daniel Munari at our Rome campus.
A particularly significant moment of the meeting was the visit to the Fiamma Lanzara Library, a unique opportunity for students to explore the heart of our cultural heritage on fashion. Alessio had the chance to immerse himself in the vast collection of the library, which holds over 4,500 monographic volumes and 12,000 magazine issues, documenting the history and evolution of fashion and costume – a theme closely tied to his professional journey.
During the guest lecture and the subsequent Q&A, Alessio revealed the pivotal moments that have shaped his career, from Prada to Gucci, and up to his current role at Maison Valentino. He shared with the students the importance of embracing a brand’s values in order to effectively communicate the vision of the Creative Director and convey the brand’s narrative. This concept resonates deeply with the philosophy and mission of the Fiamma Lanzara Library: to preserve and enhance the history of fashion.
Thanks to his talk, our students had the opportunity to discover the extraordinary path of one of the most influential minds in the industry, gaining invaluable advice and insights. The visit to the Fiamma Lanzara Library enriched this experience, creating a tangible connection between academic training and the professional world of fashion.
A heartfelt thank you to Alessio for the time, generosity, and inspiration he shared with our students!
