The “Fiamma Lanzara” Library took part in “Cosa FAI Stasera?”, an initiative organised by the FAI Rome Delegation, dedicated to promoting cultural heritage through special evening openings, guided tours, and encounters. The aim of the initiative was to invite citizens and visitors to discover Accademia Costume & Moda: a dynamic and welcoming space that connects the cultural heritage of the past with new forms of knowledge and creativity.
For the occasion, the “Fiamma Lanzara” Library opened the doors of its new campus in the heart of the Esquilino district, welcoming the public into a space that intertwines history, research, and innovation. Visitors were able to explore a unique environment dedicated to the memory of fashion and costume — a true research hub for our students, scholars, and professionals in the field.
Throughout the evening, the public took part in guided tours and in-depth sessions curated by FAI volunteers and the Accademia team, who led guests through tailoring and design workshops, rare volumes, specialised journals, archival documents, and visual materials. The Library, in particular, retraced the origins and development of this prestigious institution through its collections and archival heritage.
The event represented an important opportunity to discover Accademia Costume & Moda’s educational, bibliographic, and documentary heritage up close, while also experiencing the Library in a more personal and participatory way. It was an evening of discovery and dialogue, where the curiosity of visitors intertwined with the story of a place that has safeguarded over sixty years of research, creativity, and education.
Participation in “Cosa FAI Stasera?” reaffirms the “Fiamma Lanzara” Library’s commitment to being not only a space for study, but also a centre for cultural exchange open to the city — a place where knowledge is shared through dialogue, encounter, and the cross-pollination of ideas.
A heartfelt thank you to all the visitors who joined us and to the FAI Rome Delegation for making this evening of cultural appreciation and dialogue possible.
