On the occasion of Ottobrata Monticiana 2025, the historic festival that each year celebrates the culture, traditions, and vitality of Rome’s Rione Monti, the “Fiamma Lanzara” Library welcomed residents, enthusiasts, and visitors for a series of special guided tours.
The initiative, part of the wider programme of cultural events animating the neighbourhood, offered a valuable opportunity to discover one of the most significant places within Accademia Costume & Moda.
During the visits, participants had the chance to explore the Library’s collections — a heritage comprising rare volumes, historic magazines, archival documents, and visual materials that together tell the story of over sixty years of history, creativity, and innovation in Italian and international fashion.
Opening the doors of the “Fiamma Lanzara” Library for Ottobrata Monticiana meant much more than simply showcasing a collection: it represented a meaningful encounter between the academic community and the local area — between students, lecturers, researchers, and citizens. It was an opportunity to celebrate the Library’s deep connection with the cultural fabric of Rome, fostering an ongoing dialogue between past, present, and future.
The initiative once again confirmed the Library’s vocation as a space for sharing and knowledge, open to the city — a place where fashion is understood not only as an aesthetic expression but as a cultural, historical, and social language, capable of narrating the evolution of society through materials, forms, and ideas.
