A new valuable contribution enriches the Biblioteca Fiamma Lanzara, thanks to the generosity of Maurizio Galante, former student, couturier, and Creative Director of his renowned Haute Couture Maison.
This donation, aimed at inspiring future generations of designers and fashion professionals, includes 315 issues of prestigious fashion magazines from Italy, France, Germany, and Austria, spanning from 1910 to 1980.
Among the titles joining the already extensive collection of the Biblioteca Fiamma Lanzara are Beyer’s Mode, Burda Moden, La donna, la casa, il bambino, La mode pratique, Rakam, Eva, and Mani d’oro. These publications further enhance the value of the library’s periodicals archive, the most significant cultural documentation centre for fashion in the Lazio region.
With this significant addition, the Biblioteca Fiamma Lanzara further expands its already rich heritage, which comprises 4,500 monographic volumes—including editions from the world’s most iconic fashion Maisons, often signed by their Creative Directors—as well as in-depth studies on costume, theatre, cinema, and the performing arts, along with manuals on history, communication, and marketing. The collection also features 12,000 magazine issues, from the very first American edition of Harper’s Bazaar to its Italian counterpart, the complete archive of Bellezza: mensile d’alta moda e di vita italiana, and the esteemed fashion magazine collections once owned by Irene Brin, Italy’s first fashion editor.
